Get More Massage Customers with Google Ads in Dubai
Spa massage ads disapproved? Google's intimate massage and sexual content rules for the UAE, what legitimate spas change, negatives and the booking flow.
Running a licensed spa and getting ads disapproved or barely shown? Massage is the salon category where Google is strictest. Its compensated sexual acts policy bans "intimate massage and similar services", and Google treats massage sites "with physical descriptions or suggestive pictures" of therapists as intimate massage, in every country. Separately, the UAE is on Google's list of locations where all sexual content will not serve. Legitimate spas pass by advertising techniques, not therapists: "deep tissue massage", "Swedish massage", "sports massage", with treatment-room photos, therapist qualifications instead of looks, and negatives for every adult term.

What customers in the UAE search for
- Technique: "deep tissue massage dubai", "swedish massage", "sports massage", "thai massage", "hot stone massage", "reflexology". The best searches to own, because the words are clearly therapeutic.
- Need: "massage for back pain", "massage for stress". Answer with relaxation and muscle tension, not with medical cures.
- Area and near me: "massage near me", "spa jlt", "massage business bay".
- Home service: "massage at home dubai". Only if you hold a home service permit (Gulf News), and this is the query family most polluted by adult intent.
- Not customers: adult terms, jobs ("massage therapist job dubai"), courses, and "massage chair" or "massage gun" shoppers.
What your ads can and cannot say
- Intimate massage is never allowed. Google's compensated sexual acts policy prohibits "content that may be interpreted as promoting a sexual act in exchange for compensation" and lists "intimate massage and similar services". Since 2013, Google has applied this to "massage sites with physical descriptions or suggestive pictures of masseuses" and masseurs, in all countries (Google policy change log). This covers your landing page, not just the ad.
- Suggestive content does not serve in the UAE. Google defines sexually suggestive content as content that "can be interpreted as suggesting sexual intent or being sexually evocative", and lists the United Arab Emirates among "locations where all sexual content will not serve" (Google sexual content policy). One bare-back photo can quietly kill delivery.
- Practise and advertise what your licence covers. Dubai Municipality's spa and massage centre guideline (V4, May 2024) inspects "compliance of premise activity, using or practice as per license or related permit issued", and checks that products avoid language that contradicts "prevailing social customs and values".
- No medical cures. Massage therapists appear in DHA's ST-05 only for a short list of procedures, such as manual lymphatic drainage and some body devices. Treating a medical condition is a health claim, so say "relieves muscle tension", not "treats back pain".
- Prices include VAT (Mondaq).

Campaign structure
- Ad groups by technique, each sending traffic to its own section of the menu.
- A long negative list from day one, and a weekly search terms review. Adult queries that slip through waste money and bring the wrong enquiries. See our negative keywords guide.
- Search first. Google's sexual content policy keeps any ad it classifies as sexual off the Display Network and YouTube, so image campaigns are where a misread photo hurts most. Add them once your images are clean.
- Home massage separately, only with a permit, with stricter negatives and areas listed by name.
- Remarketing: massage is not one of Google's sensitive health categories, so reminders to past customers who agreed to marketing are normally available.

Landing page and WhatsApp follow-up
- A treatment menu: each technique, what it is for, duration, pressure, price including VAT.
- Therapists by qualification: training and years of practice, no photos or physical descriptions.
- House rules in writing: draping, professional conduct, and that inappropriate requests end the session. This reassures customers and reviewers.
- A health question before booking: injuries, pregnancy, conditions the therapist should know about.

Frequently asked questions
Why does Google disapprove my spa's massage ads?
Google bans intimate massage under its compensated sexual acts policy, and it treats massage sites with physical descriptions or suggestive pictures of therapists as intimate massage. Remove suggestive therapist photos and any descriptions of looks from the ad and the landing page, and advertise techniques.
Why are my massage ads approved but not showing in Dubai?
If Google classifies an ad as sexually suggestive, it will not serve in the UAE at all. Replace bare-skin images with treatment-room photos and keep wording technique-led.
Which negative keywords should a spa use?
Start with adult terms such as sensual, erotic, body to body, happy ending, nuru and escort, plus jobs, courses and massage chairs. Review search terms weekly and add new ones.
Can a spa advertise massage for back pain?
Advertise relief of muscle tension, not treatment of a condition. Treating pain is healthcare, and Google bans misleading claims.
