Get More Medical Weight Loss Patients with Google Ads in Dubai
Medical weight loss ads in the UAE: Google bans GLP-1 drug names in ads and landing pages. EDE enforcement, diet rules, keywords and compliant follow-up.
Many weight loss patients now ask for a GLP-1 medicine by name. You cannot advertise those names. Google's prescription drug list includes the main GLP-1 brands (Ozempic, Wegovy, Mounjaro, Zepbound) and their active ingredients (semaglutide, tirzepatide, liraglutide), and since October 2025 they cannot be used promotionally in ads, keywords or landing pages outside the US, Canada and New Zealand. In July 2026 the EDE also acted against 71 violators over unapproved weight-loss products. So advertise a doctor-led medical weight loss programme, keep drug names off the page, and pair every claim with diet and activity.

What people in the UAE search for
- Programme: "medical weight loss dubai", "weight loss doctor dubai", "weight loss clinic dubai", "weight management programme".
- Injection, generic: "weight loss injections dubai", "weight loss injection price". A grey zone. The phrase is not a drug name, but the landing page must still be free of drug names.
- Drug names: brand and ingredient searches for GLP-1 medicines. They are off-limits as keywords.
- Specialists: "endocrinologist dubai", "obesity specialist", "bariatric consultation". Strong intent if you have those doctors.
- Noise: "weight loss pills", "slimming tea", "diet plan free". Shoppers and DIY.
What your ads can and cannot say
- GLP-1 names are banned in ads. Google's prescription drug list includes ozempic, wegovy, mounjaro, zepbound, semaglutide, tirzepatide and liraglutide, as well as other weight-related medicines such as phentermine, metformin, naltrexone and bupropion. The October 2025 update bars promotional use of these terms in ads, landing pages and keywords outside the US, Canada and New Zealand (restricted drug terms). The list is not exhaustive, so treat any brand of the same medicines the same way.
- The landing page counts. A programme page that lists the drugs you prescribe will get the ad disapproved. Describe "prescription medication where clinically appropriate" instead.
- UAE enforcement is active. In July 2026 the Emirates Drug Establishment said it had acted against 71 violators over unapproved peptide-based weight-loss products, cited 14 licensed facilities and referred 14 influencers to the media regulator, and that it monitors websites and social media (Khaleej Times, July 2026). Federal Decree-Law No. 38 of 2024 needs EDE approval to advertise medical products (FAO mirror).
- Diet and activity in the claim. The Dubai Healthcare City advertising policy requires weight management ads to balance the claim with references to a healthy energy-controlled diet and physical activity.
- No guarantees or fear. DHA's advertising standard rejects guaranteed results, unrealistic expectations and content that causes undue fear about health.

Campaign structure
- Programme campaign: ad groups for medical weight loss, weight loss doctor and clinic, and specialists (endocrinology, obesity), each to a page that matches.
- Drug names as negatives, if your broad match keeps mapping you to them. Some of those searchers want a pharmacy or a price, not a programme.
- Audiences: Google's personalised advertising policy treats physical health conditions as sensitive and injections as invasive procedures. Plan without Customer Match or lookalikes.
- Conversion: attended medical assessment, then programme start, imported with conversion tracking.
- Disapprovals: see why healthcare ads get disapproved.

Landing page and WhatsApp follow-up
- The programme: assessment, blood tests, follow-ups, dietitian and activity support.
- Medication described generically: "prescription medication may be part of the plan if your doctor decides it is appropriate". No brand or ingredient names.
- The doctors: names and DHA titles.
- Price with conditions: what the programme fee covers and what is billed separately.
