How to Check Your Visa Medical Result in Dubai, Abu Dhabi and Other Emirates
Check your UAE visa medical result online: Dubai Health app and website, TAMM for Abu Dhabi, EHS for Sharjah. Timings, what unfit means and how retests work.
Your visa medical result arrives by SMS and email. To check it yourself: in Dubai, use the Medical Fitness Check page on dubaihealth.ae or "Check Medical Fitness Test Status" in the Dubai Health (DHA) app, with the reference number from your SMS. In Abu Dhabi, use the free "Visa screening result" service on TAMM with your application number and UID. In Sharjah and the Northern Emirates, EHS sends results by email and SMS within 24 hours. "Unfit" does not always mean refusal: some results lead to a confirmatory test, treatment or a one-year visa.

What you need before you check
- Your reference or application number. It comes by SMS after the test, and it is printed on your receipt.
- Passport number and date of birth (Dubai), or your UID number (Abu Dhabi). The UID is on your entry permit or residence visa.
- The mobile number you gave at registration. If a typing centre or PRO used their own number, the SMS went to them. Ask them for the reference.
How to check your medical result in Dubai
Option 1: Dubai Health website
- Open the Medical Fitness Check page on dubaihealth.ae. Dubai Health links to it from its Medical Fitness Exam service page.
- Enter the reference number and the details requested.
- Read the status. It is free and needs no login.
Option 2: the app
- Download the Dubai Health (formerly DHA) app from the App Store or Google Play.
- Log in with UAE PASS, or create an account.
- Go to Services, then Other Services, then Check Medical Fitness Test Status.
- Enter the request reference number, date of birth and passport number, and tap Check Status.
Gulf News describes the statuses as "in process" or "completed". Once it shows completed, the result has gone to the visa system and your sponsor can continue.
Dubai result times
| Package | Result time |
|---|---|
| Standard (AED 270) | 24 working hours |
| Premium (AED 700) | 6 working hours |
| VIP (AED 1,020) | 2 working hours |
| Smart Salem (AED 700) | 30 minutes |
Dubai Health counts official working hours, not clock hours. A standard test done late on a Friday may not be ready until the next working day. Fees and centres are in our Dubai medical fitness test guide.
How to check your medical result in Abu Dhabi
- Go to TAMM (tamm.abudhabi) and search for Visa screening result. It is a DoH service and needs no account.
- Enter the application number from your SMS.
- Enter your UID number.
- Complete the captcha and submit.
If you tested at a private DoH-approved centre, it may have its own tracker. Capital Health lets you check visa medical status with the transaction number on your receipt. It notes that it does not issue a printed or digital fitness report: the result is linked to ICP directly.
Abu Dhabi result times
| Provider and package | Result time |
|---|---|
| SEHA regular or fast track | Within 48 hours, sooner if you get an SMS |
| SEHA premium | Within 24 hours |
| Capital Health standard / fast track / VIP | 48 hours / 24 hours / same day |
If the time has passed, call SEHA on 80050 or Capital Health on 800 77 with your reference number. See our Abu Dhabi and Sharjah medical test guide for fees and centres.
Sharjah, Ajman, UAQ, RAK and Fujairah
Emirates Health Services (EHS) says the result is issued within 24 hours and sent by email and SMS (EHS service page). The result then reaches the visa system. EHS does not publish a separate public status checker, so if nothing arrives:
- Check your spam folder and the email you gave at booking.
- Log in to the EHS app or website with UAE PASS. The app shows your appointments, medical records and reports.
- Call the EHS 24/7 call centre on 800 8877 with your reference. More on EHS in our Emirates Health Services guide.
What "unfit" means
The federal rules are in Cabinet Resolution No. 7 of 2008 as amended by Cabinet Resolution No. 75 of 2022 (summary in Gulf Today). The outcome depends on the condition and on whether this is your first visa or a renewal.
| Finding | First residency | Renewal |
|---|---|---|
| HIV | Not issued | Not renewed |
| Pulmonary TB (old or active) | Unfit. Some family members, diplomats and major investors can be exempted | Fit "subject to treatment", with a one-year visa. Stopping treatment makes you unfit |
| Leprosy | Not issued | Not renewed |
| Hepatitis (five job groups only) | Not issued unless the visa purpose changes within 30 days of notification | Same |
| Syphilis (five job groups only) | Certificate issued after treatment | Same |
| Pregnancy (female domestic workers) | Sponsor decides in writing whether employment continues | Not stated |
The five job groups are domestic workers and nannies, nursery and kindergarten staff, barbers and health club workers, and health facility workers. The resolution lets the Minister of Health or the head of the local health authority grant exemptions. Fragomen noted in 2022 that this opened a route for some HIV-positive applicants, subject to that approval.
Retests and follow-up
A first abnormal result is often not final. Common follow-ups:
- Suspicious chest X-ray. You may be recalled for more tests, such as a sputum test, before a decision. The FAQ in DHA's medical fitness service catalogue says whether you can work "depends on the result whether minimal or moderate".
- Positive hepatitis B surface antigen. The same catalogue says you will need a confirmatory PCR test.
- Unfit decision in Dubai. Fit certificates are emailed. For unfit cases, Dubai Health's service catalogue says the sponsor or PRO must visit Block 7 at Al Muhaisnah Medical Fitness Centre during working hours.
- TB at renewal. You are referred for treatment and preventive medicine follow-up, and your visa is issued for one year.
Do not book a new paid test elsewhere to "get a different result". The result is tied to your file in the visa system. Follow the recall instructions in the SMS, and speak to the screening centre's doctor about your own case.
Common problems and fixes
| Problem | Likely cause | Fix |
|---|---|---|
| No SMS after the result time | Agent's phone number on the form, or a recall pending | Ask the typing centre or PRO for the reference, then check online |
| "Record not found" | Wrong reference format or passport number | Enter the number exactly as in the SMS. Use the passport you registered with |
| Status stuck on "in process" | Standard package counted in working hours, or a retest is needed | Wait one working day, then call 800 60 (Dubai Health) or 80050 (SEHA) |
| Result says fit, but the visa is not moving | Result not yet transmitted to GDRFA or ICP | Ask your sponsor to recheck after 24 hours |
| Need a copy of the certificate | Some centres send only an electronic result | In Dubai, use the emailed certificate. In Abu Dhabi, the result is linked to ICP directly |
