Why Are My Dental Google Ads Clicks So Expensive?
Dental clicks in Dubai costing too much? See why implants and aligners get pricey, and the settings, keywords and pages that lower cost per booked patient.
Access One is the healthcare-only Google Ads agency in Dubai and a Google Partner. This is the order we check a UAE dental account in when this problem comes up. By Youssef Hajri, Founder.
Dental clicks are expensive because implants and clear aligners are high-value treatments with many clinics bidding for the same searches, and LocaliQ's 2026 benchmark already puts dental near the top at $8.00 per click (mostly US accounts). Your account pays more than it should when it chases broad, generic keywords, shows to people outside your area, has weak ads and pages, or uses a bid strategy with no target. Fix waste first, then judge cost per booked patient, not cost per click.

Quick diagnosis checklist
Before you blame the market, check whether your account is paying for its own mistakes.
- You know your cost per booked patient by treatment, not just cost per click.
- Generic keywords like "dentist" are not taking most of the budget.
- Search Partners and Display are off on Search campaigns.
- Location option is Presence, with a realistic radius.
- Quality Score components for top keywords are Average or better.
- The bid strategy has a sensible target, or a cap if you use Maximize clicks.
- Auction insights show who you compete with and how often.
- Brand searches run in their own campaign.

The likely causes, ranked
- A crowded, high-value market. Implants and aligners are worth a lot per patient, so many clinics bid hard. LocaliQ's 2026 benchmark shows $8.00 per click for dentists against $5.42 for all industries (LocaliQ).
- Bidding on generic terms. "Dentist" and "dental clinic" pull in big groups and every competitor. Treatment plus area is cheaper and closer to booking.
- Weak ads and pages. Ad Rank includes ad quality and landing page experience. Weak quality means paying more for the same position (Google on Ad Rank).
- Clicks you did not choose. Search Partners, Display, loose locations and late-night hours.
- Bid strategy without guardrails. Maximize conversions with no target will spend the budget, whatever the cost per lead.
How to fix it, step by step
1. Measure the right number
Track enquiries and booked patients by treatment (see dental leads not booking). An implant click at AED 40 that books one patient in 30 clicks can be far more profitable than a check-up click at AED 10.
2. Read auction insights
Tick the campaign under Campaigns and select Auction insights (Google's steps). If the same few competitors show above you most of the time, you will not win that fight on bids alone. Win it on specificity and quality.
3. Shift budget to long-tail keywords
- From "dentist dubai" to "emergency dentist al barsha", "single tooth implant price dubai", "kids dentist mirdif".
- Use phrase and exact match. Add negatives weekly from the search terms report.
- Keep a separate brand campaign. Brand clicks are cheap and protect you from competitors bidding on your name.
4. Turn off paid traffic you did not choose
- In the campaign's Networks setting, untick Display Network and, until Google Search is profitable, Search Partners (Google Search Network).
- In Settings > Locations > Location options, choose Presence (advanced location options).
- Under Campaigns > Ad schedule, stop call-led ads outside reception hours.
5. Improve quality to lower cost
Split ad groups by treatment, write specific headlines and send each one to its own page. The steps are in fixing low Quality Score in dental ads.
6. Set the bid strategy to your data
- Few conversions: Maximize clicks with a maximum CPC limit, or Maximize conversions with tight keywords, while you collect data.
- Steady, real conversions: Maximize conversions with a target CPA set near your actual cost per lead, then adjust gradually.
- Booked patients imported: bid on bookings, not taps. See Smart Bidding.
UAE and DHA specifics
- Self-pay treatments drive the price. Implants, orthodontics and cosmetic work sit outside Dubai's basic dental cover (GC 03/2024), so these are self-pay, high-value searches and the most contested.
- Price transparency helps cost. A "from" price in the ad filters out people who would click and never book. DHA rules require any price to be accurate with conditions.
- Neighbourhood searches are cheaper. Dubai patients often search with the area name. Treatment plus area keywords usually face fewer bidders than city-wide terms.
- Benchmarks are US-heavy. LocaliQ's numbers are mostly US accounts. Use them to sense-check, not to forecast Dubai costs.
More general background: why Google Ads is expensive for clinics and how to lower cost per lead.
Fix it yourself, or have it fixed
Lowering dental costs properly takes booking-level tracking, a weekly keyword and search term review, a restructure by treatment and area, and careful bid strategy changes. Most clinics need a few hours a week plus page work.
Fix it yourself
- Track cost per booked patient by treatment
- Rebuild keywords around treatment and area
- Remove Search Partners, Display and loose locations
- Step bid targets up or down carefully

Frequently asked questions
What is a normal cost per click for dental ads in Dubai?
There is no official UAE figure. LocaliQ's 2026 dental benchmark is $8.00 per click, mostly from US accounts. Implant and aligner terms in Dubai are usually among the most expensive in an account.
Will lowering my bids save money?
It lowers cost per click but can cut you out of the searches that book. Fix waste and quality first; then adjust bids.
Why did my dental CPC jump this month?
Look at auction insights for a new competitor, change history for edits, and Quality Score history. Seasonal demand and a changed bid strategy are the other usual causes.
Should I bid on competitor clinic names?
You may, but expect low Quality Score and high cost. Never use a competitor's name in your ad text.
