Dermatology Google Ads Disapproved in Dubai? How to Fix It
Dermatology ads disapproved in the UAE? Remove prescription drug names, PRP and STI terms, fix claims about cures, drop condition remarketing, then appeal.
Access One is the healthcare-only Google Ads agency in Dubai and a Google Partner. This is the order we check a UAE dermatology account in when this problem comes up. By Youssef Hajri, Founder.
Dermatology ads in the UAE get disapproved for five main reasons: prescription drug names such as isotretinoin, tretinoin or finasteride in ads, keywords or pages; PRP for hair or skin, which Google bans by name; STI testing or treatment, which Google does not allow in the UAE; "cure" or guaranteed-result claims; and remarketing on skin conditions. Read the exact policy in Policy manager, fix the ad, keywords and landing page, and appeal once. Then advertise the condition and the specialist instead.

Quick diagnosis checklist
Dermatology touches more Google health policies than most specialties. Check each one.
- Policy manager shows the exact policy for each disapproved ad.
- No prescription drug names (isotretinoin, tretinoin, finasteride, toxin brands) in ads, keywords or pages.
- No PRP or "regenerative" treatment promotion on ads or their landing pages.
- No STI testing or treatment ads targeting the UAE.
- No "cure", "permanent", "guaranteed" or "clear skin in days" claims.
- No remarketing or customer lists on condition or injection campaigns.
- Telehealth or online prescribing is not advertised without checking Google's rules.
- Generated text and Final URL expansion are reviewed or limited.

The likely causes, ranked
- Prescription drug names. Isotretinoin, tretinoin, finasteride and botulinum toxin are on Google's prescription drug list. Promotional use is allowed only in the US, Canada and New Zealand (October 2025 update).
- PRP. Google's speculative and experimental treatments policy names platelet-rich plasma, common in hair and skin clinics.
- Sexual health services. Google's birth control, fertility and STI policy lists the United Arab Emirates among locations where STI testing and related services cannot be promoted. Genital and sexual health services are also sensitive for targeting.
- Claims. "Cure psoriasis" or "acne gone in 7 days" breaks the unreliable claims policy. Chronic conditions are managed, not guaranteed away.
- Condition remarketing. Physical health conditions and chronic conditions are sensitive under health in personalized advertising. Remarketing and customer lists are not allowed.
How to fix it, step by step
1. Find the exact policy
Go to Tools > Troubleshooting > Policy manager. For each item, note the policy and whether it is the ad, a keyword, an asset or the destination.
2. Replace drug names with conditions
| Instead of | Write |
|---|---|
| Isotretinoin / Roaccutane treatment | Acne treatment with a specialist dermatologist |
| Tretinoin prescription | Acne and pigmentation consultation |
| Finasteride for hair loss | Hair loss consultation |
| Botox for sweating | Excessive sweating treatment |
Remove the names from keywords too, and from the landing page, including price lists, FAQs and image alt text.
3. Rebuild PRP and hair pages
Advertise "hair loss clinic consultation" and send it to a page about diagnosing hair loss and the options a dermatologist considers, without promoting PRP. Do not run a generic ad to a PRP page; Google treats that as abusing the ad network, which can suspend the account.
4. Remove services that cannot run in the UAE
Pause ads and keywords for STI testing or treatment targeted at the UAE. Patients can still find these services through your website and Google Business Profile.
5. Rewrite claims
Replace outcomes with facts: the dermatologist's licensed title, what the first visit includes, how follow-up works, insurers accepted. Testimonials that mention results need a clear "results vary" line.
6. Remove sensitive audiences and generated text
- Remove remarketing lists, Customer Match and lookalikes from condition and injection campaigns.
- In Performance Max, open Asset optimisation in the campaign settings and limit Final URL expansion, so ads do not land on blog posts about medications (Google's steps).
7. Appeal once
Edit and save the ad, or appeal in Policy manager with "Made changes to comply with policy" (Google's appeal guide). Batch by campaign. The general process is in disapproved healthcare ads.
UAE and DHA specifics
- UAE law is stricter than Google. UAE rules restrict advertising prescription medicines to the public, so keep drug names out of all paid promotion, not only Google Ads.
- DHA wording rules. The DHA advertising standard bans "100%", "immediate results" and "no side effects", and requires risks for invasive procedures. Khaleej Times listed the banned words in September 2026.
- Titles. Only a licensed dermatologist can be called one in ads. Gulf News reported the title rules.
- Cosmetic scope. Specialist and consultant dermatologists may supervise non-surgical cosmetic services under the DHA standard; say who actually treats.
Fix it yourself, or have it fixed

Frequently asked questions
Can I advertise acne treatment if I prescribe isotretinoin?
Yes, advertise "acne treatment with a dermatologist", but keep isotretinoin and its brand names out of the ad, keywords and landing page.
Can a Dubai clinic advertise PRP for hair loss on Google?
No. Google's speculative treatment policy names PRP, with an exception only for certain US cases. Advertise a hair loss consultation instead.
Why was my hair loss ad disapproved when it does not mention PRP?
Check the landing page. If the page promotes PRP or names finasteride, the ad can be disapproved for its destination.
Can I remarket to people who visited my acne page?
No. Physical health conditions are a sensitive category, so remarketing and customer lists are not allowed on those ads.
