DHA Careers: How to Get a Job at DHA, Dubai Health and Dubai Hospitals
DHA careers explained: government hospital jobs now sit with Dubai Health via Dubai Careers, plus Sheryan Opportunities, licence steps and fake-offer red flags.
Most "DHA careers" are now Dubai Health careers. Since 2023 the government hospitals (Rashid, Dubai, Latifa, Hatta, Al Jalila Children's) and the health and fitness centres are run by Dubai Health, which recruits through the Dubai Careers government portal. DHA itself is the regulator and hires regulatory and corporate staff, also via Dubai Careers. Clinical vacancies across private and public employers are listed on DHA's Sheryan Opportunities page. For any clinical job you also need a DHA licence or eligibility.

DHA and Dubai Health are two employers
Until 2023 the Dubai Health Authority both regulated healthcare and ran the government hospitals. That changed when Dubai Academic Health Corporation, now branded Dubai Health, took over patient care. DHA kept strategy, licensing, inspection, health insurance and public health policy (Gulf News).
| Employer | What it runs | Typical jobs |
|---|---|---|
| Dubai Health | Rashid Hospital, Dubai Hospital, Latifa Hospital, Hatta Hospital, Al Jalila Children's Hospital, Jebel Ali Hospital (Emergency and Trauma Centre), ambulatory health centres, medical fitness centres, plus MBRU and Al Jalila Foundation | Doctors, nurses, midwives, allied health, pharmacists, lab and imaging staff, admin, academic and research roles |
| Dubai Health Authority (DHA) | Regulation: licensing, inspection, health insurance, public health policy | Regulatory, inspection, policy, insurance, IT, finance, corporate roles |
So if you searched "Dubai Hospital careers" or "Latifa Hospital jobs", the employer is Dubai Health.
Where to apply
- Dubai Careers (government jobs). Dubai Health's careers page sends applicants to the Dubai Careers website to see its openings (Dubai Health careers). Dubai Careers is the central portal for Dubai government entities, run by the Smart Dubai Government Establishment under Digital Dubai. Register, upload your CV and apply to each vacancy.
- Sheryan Opportunities (all clinical employers). DHA's Sheryan Opportunities page lets licensed health facilities post vacancies and lets professionals search and apply. It includes a "UAE Nationals Opportunities" section with physician, dentist, nurse and midwife, allied health and traditional medicine categories.
- Private hospital groups. Most clinical jobs in Dubai are in the private sector. Large groups run their own career portals and also post on Sheryan.
The licence comes first for clinical roles
Hospitals in Dubai hire clinicians who are DHA-licensed or close to it. The DHA licensing manual sets the order: create a Sheryan account and complete the free self-assessment, meet the Professional Qualification Requirements (PQR), get a positive primary source verification, pass the assessment if you are not exempt, then receive the registration. A licensed facility then activates your licence (DHA licensing manual).
- Registration is valid for one year from issue, so time your application with your job search.
- Most DHA computer-based exams for nurses and allied health cost USD 240; many physician exams cost USD 280 (DHA CBT guideline, September 2026).
- You get three attempts. After a third failure you cannot reapply for two years.

Non-clinical jobs at DHA and Dubai Health
Finance, HR, IT, procurement, communications, insurance and policy roles do not need a professional licence. They are posted on Dubai Careers like any Dubai government job. Government roles in Dubai place a strong focus on Emiratisation, so some vacancies are open to UAE nationals only. Read the eligibility line on each advert before you apply.
Spot a fake DHA job offer
Fake offers using DHA or hospital names have circulated for years, and Gulf News has warned about them (Gulf News). Red flags:
- Any request for a fee to "process" a visa, licence or interview.
- An offer letter without an interview, or from a free email address.
- A vacancy that does not appear on Dubai Careers, Sheryan or the employer's own site.
- Pressure to pay quickly to "hold" the job.
If in doubt, check the vacancy on the official portal or call Dubai Health on 800 60 or DHA on 800 342 (see DHA contact numbers).

Frequently asked questions
How do I apply for a job at Dubai Hospital or Rashid Hospital?
Through Dubai Health, which runs both hospitals. Its careers page directs applicants to the Dubai Careers government portal.
Does DHA still hire nurses?
Government hospital nurses are now hired by Dubai Health. DHA hires regulatory and corporate staff. Private hospitals hire nurses directly and often post on Sheryan Opportunities.
Do I need a DHA licence before applying?
For clinical jobs, employers usually want you licensed or at least eligible. Non-clinical government jobs do not need a professional licence.
Is there a fee to apply for DHA or Dubai Health jobs?
No official channel charges you to apply. Treat any request for money to secure a job as a scam.
What is the Sheryan Opportunities page?
A DHA job hub inside the Sheryan portal where licensed facilities post vacancies and professionals apply, with a separate section for UAE nationals.
