Hospital Jobs in Dubai: How to Apply at Private Hospitals
Hospital jobs in Dubai: official career portals for American Hospital, Mediclinic, Aster, NMC and King's, the DHA licence step, and how to spot fake offers.
Private hospitals in Dubai hire through their own online career portals, not by email to random recruiters. American Hospital Dubai, Mediclinic, Aster and Medcare, NMC and King's College Hospital London in Dubai all send applicants to an official portal linked from their website's careers page. For clinical roles you need a DHA licence or DHA eligibility before most hospitals will move you to offer. Government hospitals (Rashid, Dubai, Latifa and others) recruit through Dubai Health and Dubai Careers, covered in our DHA careers guide.

Private or government: know who you are applying to
Dubai has two very different hospital employers. Government hospitals are run by Dubai Health and recruit through the Dubai Careers portal. Private hospitals each run their own hiring. This guide covers the private side. If the hospital you want is Rashid, Dubai, Latifa, Hatta or Al Jalila Children's, read our guide to DHA and Dubai Health careers instead.
The private sector is large and growing. A DHA report covered by Khaleej Times in October 2026 counted 5,931 licensed health facilities and 70,566 licensed health professionals in Dubai in the first half of 2026, up 7% and 6.5% on a year earlier.
Where the main private hospital groups post jobs
Always start from the hospital's own website and click through to the portal. Job boards and "careers" blogs often repost old adverts or link to lookalike pages.
| Employer | Official starting point | How applications work |
|---|---|---|
| American Hospital Dubai | ahdubai.com/careers | "Visit Career Portal" button for current openings; also posts jobs on its LinkedIn page |
| Mediclinic Middle East | mediclinic.ae careers | Applications accepted only through its Careers Portal; register your CV, then apply to each job |
| Aster DM Healthcare | asterdmhealthcare.com careers | "Explore Jobs" search with filters by country, city and career area |
| Medcare (Aster group) | medcare.ae careers | Links to an online candidate portal |
| NMC Healthcare | nmc.ae/careers | Redirects to NMC's online candidate portal |
| King's College Hospital London in Dubai | People Practices page | "Apply for Position" link to its career portal |
| Al Zahra Hospital Dubai | azhd.ae/careers | "View Current Openings" or join its talent community; lists healthjobs.dubai@azhd.ae |
| International Modern Hospital | imh.ae/careers | Vacancy list searchable by department |
| Zulekha Hospital | zulekhahospitals.com | Site footer lists hr@zulekhahospitals.com for CVs |
Many of these portals run on the same applicant tracking software, so expect to create a separate account for each group. Keep one master CV and a folder of scanned documents ready.
American Hospital Dubai careers
American Hospital Dubai's careers page sends applicants to its career portal for all open roles, with LinkedIn as a second channel. For physicians it lists benefits including malpractice and medical insurance, accommodation, seven days of CME leave, accompanied contracts (spouse and two children), education support for two children aged 6 to 18, and locum contracts for some positions. Its doctors' page has asked consultant applicants for North American or equivalent Western board certification plus three years of post-board experience at consultant level. Check the current advert, as requirements differ by role.
The same page carries a warning about fake "lookalike" websites that collect personal data and ask for money. It states that charging for recruitment is illegal, and suggests reporting fraud to the authorities, including the Dubai Police Cyber Crime Cell.
Mediclinic Middle East
Mediclinic says it only accepts job applications through its Careers Portal. Registering your CV is not enough: you must apply to a specific vacancy before it can process you. It contacts candidates after the application deadline. You can also set job alerts. Its careers page lists 7 hospitals and 22 clinics across Dubai, Abu Dhabi and Al Ain.
Aster, Medcare and the Aster network
Aster's careers FAQ answers a common confusion: if a posting has no "Apply" button, it is not taking online applications. You can apply for several roles at once, but Aster notes this does not raise your chances. HR contacts shortlisted candidates by email or phone. Medcare hospitals and medical centres link to their own candidate portal from medcare.ae.
King's College Hospital London in Dubai
King's posts roles through the "Apply for Position" link on its People Practices page. Its notice to candidates says it never asks for money to secure a job and only contacts candidates from official company email addresses.
How to apply, step by step
- Sort your licence first (clinical roles). Hospitals rarely progress clinicians who have not started the DHA process. Get your DHA registration, often called the eligibility letter, through Sheryan: self-assessment, DataFlow verification and the DHA exam unless you are exempt. Registration is valid for one year from issue, per the DHA licensing manual. See our DHA licence guide, DataFlow guide and DHA exam guide.
- Prepare a hospital-ready CV. Put your DHA status and registration number at the top. List bed numbers, units, case mix and accreditations of your past hospitals (JCI, for example), plus the EMR systems you have used.
- Apply on each official portal. Use the table above. Also search DHA's Sheryan Opportunities page, where licensed facilities post vacancies.
- Interview. Usually a screening call, then an interview with the department head and HR. Senior doctors and surgeons should have case logs ready.
- Offer and work permit. The employer issues the offer and applies for your work permit. MOHRE advises checking your job offer number on its website, and says employers carry all recruitment costs (Gulf News).
- Licence activation. The hospital activates your DHA licence through its own Sheryan account and you accept the request. You must hold malpractice insurance at the activating facility. If several facilities invite you, the full-time licence goes to the one that pays first.
- Visa medical. Complete the residency medical. See our medical fitness test guide.
What private hospitals usually look for
- DHA licence or eligibility. The single biggest filter for doctors, nurses, pharmacists and allied health.
- Recent, continuous practice. The UAE rules treat a gap of more than three years as a "gap of practice" that needs extra CPD and supervised training before licensing.
- Hospital experience for hospital roles. Clinic-only experience is a harder sell for inpatient, ICU and theatre jobs.
- Insurance and coding familiarity. Most private care in Dubai is insurance-billed, so experience with approvals and documentation helps.
- Languages. Adverts for patient-facing roles often list Arabic as an advantage. Mention every language you speak.
Non-clinical hospital jobs (finance, HR, IT, procurement, patient relations, marketing) do not need a DHA licence. They are posted on the same portals.

Red flags: fake hospital job offers
- Any request for money for a visa, licence, "processing" or an interview slot.
- An offer without an interview, or from a free email account.
- A job that is not on the hospital's own portal, its LinkedIn page or Sheryan Opportunities.
- A website that looks like the hospital's but has a slightly different address.
Both American Hospital Dubai and King's College Hospital publish warnings about these scams. If unsure, call the hospital's main number from its official website and ask HR to confirm the vacancy.
Frequently asked questions
How do I apply for a job at American Hospital Dubai?
Go to ahdubai.com/careers and use the "Visit Career Portal" button to see and apply for open roles. The hospital also lists jobs on its LinkedIn page. It never charges candidates for recruitment.
Can I email my CV to a private hospital in Dubai?
Some smaller hospitals list an HR email, such as Al Zahra and Zulekha. Larger groups like Mediclinic only accept applications through their portal, so emailed CVs may not be processed.
Do I need a DHA licence before applying to a Dubai hospital?
Not to apply, but most hospitals want at least DHA eligibility before making a clinical offer. The hospital then activates your licence. Non-clinical jobs do not need a licence.
Do private hospitals in Dubai pay for the visa?
Yes. MOHRE says employers are legally responsible for recruitment costs. Never pay a recruiter or "agent" for a hospital job.
Where can I find all Dubai hospital vacancies in one place?
DHA's Sheryan Opportunities page collects vacancies posted by licensed facilities. Government hospital jobs are on Dubai Careers, and each private group also uses its own portal.
