Google Ads for Clinics in Ajman: The Complete Local Guide
Google Ads for clinics in Ajman: MOHAP ad licence fees, market facts, the Sharjah border, Arabic vs English, insurance, budget maths and a launch plan.
In Ajman, MOHAP licenses private health facilities and their advertising. Get the MOHAP ad licence that fits your channel before you scale spend: AED 100 to apply, then AED 1,000 a month or AED 3,000 a year for social media. Ajman is the smallest emirate (about 260 sq km) and Ajman City runs straight into Sharjah, so a tight radius around your clinic will cover both sides of the border. Keep Masfout and Manama, which lie 110 km and 60 km away, out of your city campaigns. Lead with Search ads by treatment in English and Arabic, show insurance and prices, and track bookings, not clicks.

Who licenses and approves health ads in Ajman
Ajman has no emirate-level health authority. The Ministry of Health and Prevention (MOHAP) regulates private clinics, dental centres, home care providers and pharmacies, and licenses healthcare advertising. Public care is federal too: our EHS guide explains who runs what. The Sheikh Khalifa hospital in Ajman belongs to a separate federal network, not EHS.
| MOHAP licence | Covers | Fees and timing |
|---|---|---|
| Healthcare advertisement on social media | One official social media account per institution. Opening more than one freezes all of them | AED 100 application (non-refundable), then AED 1,000 a month or AED 3,000 a year. 1 to 3 working days |
| Healthcare advertisement for a licensed institution | Print, audio and audiovisual ads | AED 100 application. The licence fee depends on facility category (clinic, centre, hospital) and ad type |
The social media licence is also open to commercial businesses licensed by an economic department whose activities relate to healthcare. That matters for salons and beauty centres that promote anything clinical. A salon's haircut ads are ordinary ads. Laser, injectables or "treatments" bring you into health advertising.
What you can't say. The federal rules are Cabinet Resolution No. 7 of 2007 and Ministerial Resolution No. 430 of 2007, summarised in the CMS expert guide. According to Al Tamimi, they rule out guaranteed outcomes, "safe" or side-effect-free claims, misleading comparisons, "unique" or "incomparable", and urgency lines. Dubai's DHA standard does not govern Ajman, but its banned word list is a useful checklist. See our Dubai advertising guide.
The Ajman market: small area, dense city
| Fact | Figure | Source |
|---|---|---|
| Population | 504,846 (2017) | Ajman Statistics and Competitiveness Centre, via u.ae |
| Sex ratio | 188.13 males per 100 females (2017) | Same |
| Area | About 260 sq km, the smallest emirate | u.ae |
| Economy | GDP above AED 36 billion in 2023. Manufacturing, wholesale and retail trade, and construction lead | u.ae |
| Exclaves | Al Manamah (about 60 km from Ajman City) and Masfout (about 110 km) | u.ae |
The 2017 count is the latest figure on the federal portal. The Ajman Statistics and Competitiveness Centre publishes newer yearbooks. Check them before you size a business plan, but don't expect a big change in what matters for ads: a compact, male-heavy, working-age city.
What that means for campaigns:
- Volume is lower than in Sharjah or Dubai. Fewer searches per treatment. Expect to group related services into one campaign so Smart Bidding gets enough data.
- A male-heavy workforce means steady demand for GP visits, occupational and pre-employment checks, physiotherapy, dental and men's health.
- Families still decide most elective spending. Paediatrics, women's health, orthodontics and aesthetics need their own ad groups and landing pages.
Where Ajman patients come from
- Ajman City districts such as Al Nuaimiya, Al Rashidiya, Al Jurf, Al Rawda and Al Mowaihat. People search these names with "clinic" or "dentist". Put them in your ad copy and on your landing pages.
- Sharjah, next door. Ajman City continues straight into Sharjah City, the emirate of 1.8 million (Sharjah Census 2022). A clinic near the border can pull patients from the Sharjah side. A radius target of a few kilometres usually beats a whole-emirate target.
- Umm Al Quwain, to the north, is the least populated emirate. If you offer a treatment that is hard to find there, test UAQ as a separate location and judge it on bookings. Our Umm Al Quwain guide covers that market.
- Masfout and Manama. Exclude them from city campaigns. If you run a clinic there, target them alone.
Set the location option to "Presence" so you pay for people who are in, or regularly in, your area. Google's default, "Presence or interest", can also show ads to people elsewhere who are just interested in Ajman (Google Ads Help).
Arabic and English searches in Ajman
- Use both, check volume per treatment. In Keyword Planner, set the location to Ajman and compare English and Arabic terms, for example "dental clinic Ajman" and "عيادة اسنان عجمان". Low-volume Arabic terms can still be worth it if they convert.
- Keep each ad group in one language. Since Google dropped language targeting on Search in September 2026, ad and landing page language decide who sees what.
- Use WhatsApp heavily. In a busy, mixed-language market, a WhatsApp button often lets a patient write in whichever language they're comfortable with. Track it as a conversion. See WhatsApp leads from Google Ads.
Insurance and price: say it in the ad
Since 1 January 2025, private sector employers in Ajman and the other Northern Emirates must insure staff to issue or renew residency. MOHRE's package costs AED 320 a year, with outpatient co-pay of 25% capped at AED 100 a visit, through the DubaiCare Network. Other insurers' products are also sold.
- If you accept the plans your patients hold, put "Insurance accepted" in a headline and list networks on the landing page.
- If you are cash-only, show a "from" price. It filters out clicks you would pay for and lose anyway. Prices must be accurate, with conditions stated.
Budget logic for Ajman
Cost per booking = CPC ÷ enquiry rate ÷ booking rate. Set the location in Keyword Planner to Ajman, plus any Sharjah areas you'll target, to get realistic CPCs. Our CPC guide explains the auction.
Illustrative example (not a quote): a physiotherapy clinic with an AED 7 CPC, 10% enquiry rate and 50% booking rate pays AED 140 per booked patient. Twenty-five bookings a month needs about AED 3,500, which is about AED 115 a day (Google bills up to 30.4 times the daily budget a month).
US benchmarks from LocaliQ 2026 put average enquiry rates at 10.67% for dentists and 12.43% for physicians. Use them only until you have a month of your own data.
Step-by-step launch plan
- Licence first. Apply for the MOHAP ad licence for your channels. MOHAP's approved design carries the licence start and expiry dates, so keep it on file and renew on time.
- Google Business Profile. Correct category, the Ajman district in the address, hours, WhatsApp, Arabic and English services, and real photos. Ask happy patients for reviews, without incentives.
- One landing page per treatment, per language. Map, parking note, insurance, price or "from" price, call and WhatsApp buttons.
- Tracking. Calls, WhatsApp and forms as conversions, then booked appointments imported. Follow our conversion tracking guide.
- Launch one Search campaign for your highest-value service, with a radius of a few kilometres and "Presence" targeting.
- Check search terms twice a week for the first month. Exclude jobs, courses, "free" and other emirates' areas you don't serve.
- Expand after 30 conversions. Add the next service, test the Sharjah border and UAQ, then move to Target CPA.

Frequently asked questions
Who approves clinic ads in Ajman?
MOHAP. Ajman has no separate health authority, so private facilities there are licensed by MOHAP, and MOHAP issues healthcare advertisement licences for social media and for print, audio and audiovisual ads.
How much is the MOHAP social media advertising licence?
AED 100 to apply (non-refundable), then AED 1,000 a month or AED 3,000 a year. MOHAP says it takes 1 to 3 working days.
Should my Ajman clinic target Sharjah?
Often yes, but by radius, not the whole emirate. Ajman City runs into Sharjah City, so nearby Sharjah residents are realistic patients. Patients from far parts of Sharjah usually are not.
Can an Ajman salon advertise laser or Botox on Google?
Not by drug brand name: Google bans prescription drug terms in UAE ads. Clinical services also fall under health advertising rules and must be delivered by a licensed facility. Advertise the consultation, and check with MOHAP.
Is Ajman's population too small for Google Ads?
No, but it is smaller than Sharjah's or Dubai's, so search volume per treatment is lower. Group related services, cover the Sharjah border by radius, and judge results over 30 days.
