How do I get more plastic and cosmetic surgery patients?
How UAE plastic surgery clinics get more patients: surgeon-led pages, procedure ads, Google sensitive-category limits, DHA liposuction and advertising rules.
To get more plastic and cosmetic surgery patients in the UAE, lead with the surgeon: their licensed title, training and real consented results, then one detailed page per procedure with recovery, risks and price logic. Run Google Search ads on procedure-plus-city searches, keep ad images clothed and claims cautious, and plan without remarketing lists, because Google treats cosmetic surgery as a sensitive health category. Follow up for weeks, since most patients consult two or three surgeons first.

Why cosmetic surgery marketing is harder
- Trust decides, not price. Patients are choosing who will operate on them. They look for the surgeon's name, credentials and results long before they look at offers.
- Long research. Rhinoplasty, liposuction, tummy tuck and breast surgery leads often take weeks or months to book. Plan for it; see how long Google Ads takes to work.
- Strict platform rules. Google lists "invasive medical procedures, including cosmetic surgery" under its health in personalised advertising policy. You cannot use Customer Match, your data segments (remarketing lists), lookalikes or audience expansion for these ads. Search keywords and Google's own audiences still work.
- Imagery limits. Google's sexual content policy restricts images showing exposed intimate body parts and lists no medical exception. Keep breast and body before-and-afters on your website, not in ad images.
Know the DHA rules
- Who operates. The DHA liposuction inspection checklist says only a DHA-licensed specialist or consultant plastic surgeon may do liposuction, consultant-led at all times.
- Volume limits. The same checklist caps liposuction at 5,000 ml of total aspirate per procedure, or 2,000 ml when combined with other procedures. Never advertise "10 litres in one session".
- Consent content. Patients must be told about alternatives, complications, a possible poor outcome, the team's training and experience, and whether more procedures may be needed. Your landing pages should say the same things.
- Where. Day surgery centres can only do procedures on the list for their classification. DHA updated that list in April 2026 (Circular CIR-2026-00000064). Only advertise what your licence allows.
- Advertising. Follow the DHA medical advertising standard: licensed titles only, no "best surgeon", "100%" or "no side effects", and avoid absolute claims such as "scarless". Before-and-after photos need written consent, no editing and a "results vary" note, as Gulf News reported. In Abu Dhabi and the northern emirates, check DoH and MOHAP approvals.
- Influencers. Paid creators need a UAE Media Council Advertiser Permit, mandatory since 31 January 2026. In September 2025 the Council took legal action against an account over unapproved medical claims.
The 8-step plan
- A page for every surgeon. Licensed title, board certification, years in practice, procedures they focus on, languages, a short video. Use the exact DHA title everywhere.
- A page for every procedure. Who it suits, who it does not, the day of surgery, recovery week by week, time off work, risks, and what the price includes (surgeon, anaesthesia, facility, garments, follow-ups).
- Search ads by procedure. Separate ad groups for "rhinoplasty Dubai", "liposuction cost", "tummy tuck Abu Dhabi", "breast reduction", "mommy makeover" and so on. Add negatives such as jobs, course, fellowship, before after celebrities and free. See negative keywords.
- Offer a consultation, not a discount. "Consultation with Dr X, written plan and quote" attracts serious patients. Discount-led ads pull in bargain hunters and can clash with DHA advertising rules. If you run promotions, check Google's automatic promotions setting.
- Capture photos for assessment safely. A private WhatsApp line or secure upload for consultation photos. Never ask for intimate photos through ad forms; Google does not allow lead form assets for healthcare (lead form requirements).
- One coordinator per patient. Reply within minutes, send the plan in writing, then follow up at one, three and six weeks. Use WhatsApp lead tracking.
- Build social proof the right way. Consented video stories after recovery, Google reviews requested with a link and no incentives, and the surgeon answering common questions on Instagram.
- Track surgeries, not clicks. Import consultations and booked surgeries into Google Ads so Smart Bidding learns from real patients. See conversion tracking.
What leads cost, and the maths
There is no public UAE benchmark for plastic surgery. LocaliQ's 2026 benchmarks (mostly US) show physicians and surgeons at a $4.76 average click (about AED 17) and a $40.04 lead (about AED 147). Cosmetic surgery keywords in Dubai and Abu Dhabi usually cost much more. Example only: if you can spend AED 3,000 in ads per surgery, 1 in 4 leads consults and 1 in 3 consultations books, then 1 in 12 leads becomes a surgery, and you can afford about AED 250 per lead. Check yours with what is a good cost per lead for a clinic. For injectables and non-surgical work, read how to market an aesthetic clinic in Dubai.

Frequently asked questions
Can I use remarketing for cosmetic surgery ads?
Not with your own lists. Google treats cosmetic surgery as a sensitive health category, so Customer Match, your data segments, lookalikes and audience expansion are not supported. Use search keywords and Google's predefined audiences.
Can I show before-and-after photos?
On your website, yes, with written consent, unedited images and a "results vary" note. Avoid them in ad images where they show intimate areas.
How do I compete with cheaper surgery abroad?
Do not race on price. Show the surgeon, DHA-regulated safety rules, local follow-up and no travel recovery risk, and make your price clear.
Should I advertise offers on surgery?
Offers attract price shoppers and can conflict with DHA advertising rules. A clear consultation offer usually brings better patients.
