Why Is My Dental Google Ads Campaign Not Getting Leads?

Dental Google Ads in Dubai with no leads? Check tracking, search terms, location settings, landing pages and reply speed, in that order. Step-by-step fixes.

Guide · 28 Oct 2026 · Access One

Access One is the healthcare-only Google Ads agency in Dubai and a Google Partner. This is the order we check a UAE dental account in when this problem comes up. By Youssef Hajri, Founder.

Quick answer

A dental campaign in Dubai with no leads usually has one of four problems: conversion tracking that misses calls and WhatsApp, budget spent on job seekers and DIY searches, location settings that pay for people who will never visit, or a landing page that hides the price, the insurers and the WhatsApp button. Check them in that order. If the ads barely show at all, the problem is budget or Ad Rank, not demand.

Quick diagnosis checklist

Open your account and tick these off. Any box you cannot tick is a likely leak, and the flowchart below tells you which to fix first.

Dental account: 10-minute check8 checks
  • Goals > Conversions > Summary shows call, WhatsApp and form actions as active, not "Inactive" or "Unverified".
  • Reception's call and WhatsApp log for last month roughly matches what Google reports.
  • The search terms report (last 30 days, sorted by cost) has no "jobs", "DHA exam", "course" or "free" searches.
  • Location option is set to Presence, and the radius matches how far your patients really travel.
  • Emergency, implants or aligners, and general check-ups run in separate campaigns or ad groups.
  • Each ad group sends people to a treatment page, not the home page.
  • The page shows a price range with conditions, insurers accepted, and call and WhatsApp buttons without scrolling on a phone.
  • Ads only run in hours when someone answers the phone and WhatsApp.

Diagnostic flowchart

The likely causes, ranked

  1. Tracking that cannot see the leads. Google forwarding numbers are not available in the UAE, so calls from your ads are invisible unless you track call taps and website number taps. WhatsApp taps need their own tag. Many "no lead" dental accounts have leads; Google just cannot count them.
  2. Money going to the wrong searches. Dental keywords overlap with dental jobs, licensing and study. "Dental assistant jobs Dubai", "DHA dental exam" and "dental course" all match loose keywords.
  3. One campaign doing every job. Emergency toothache, implants and a routine clean need different ads, pages and hours. Mixed together, the ad matches none of them well.
  4. A landing page that does not answer the two questions. Dubai dental patients want to know the price and whether you take their insurance. A home page with a slider answers neither.
  5. Loose locations and hours. The default location option, Presence or interest, reaches people outside your area, and ads running at 10pm reach voicemail.

How to fix it, step by step

1. Prove tracking works

  1. Go to Goals > Conversions > Summary. Note every action and its status.
  2. Make sure you track three things: taps on the call button in your ad ("Clicks on call ads and assets"), taps on the phone number on your site, and taps on your WhatsApp button. Google's phone number click guide covers the second. Our guides to tracking calls in the UAE and WhatsApp leads cover the rest.
  3. Test each one with Tag Assistant, then compare last month's Google conversions with reception's log. A big gap is a tracking problem, not a demand problem.

2. Clean the search terms

  1. Go to Campaigns > Insights and reports > Search terms. Set the last 30 days and sort by cost. Google explains the report in its search terms help page.
  2. Tick every term that could never book: jobs, salaries, licensing, courses, equipment, "home remedy", other emirates you do not serve.
  3. Add them as negatives. Put the ones that apply everywhere into a shared list under Tools > Shared library > Exclusion lists (negative keyword lists). Our dental job-seeker guide has a starter list.

3. Split campaigns by intent

Run emergency (tight radius, opening hours only), high-value treatments (implants, aligners, veneers, each with its own ad group and page), general dentistry (lead with insurers accepted) and brand separately. Then set hours under Campaigns > Ad schedule (Google's ad schedule steps), so call-led ads stop when reception goes home.

4. Tighten locations

Open Campaigns > Locations to set the area, then in the campaign's Settings > Locations > Location options choose Presence. Use a radius that matches real travel: wider for implants than for a filling. Google's location targeting guide covers radius targeting.

5. Give each treatment a page that answers questions

One page per treatment: the dentist's DHA-licensed title, what happens, a price range with conditions, insurers accepted, and call and WhatsApp buttons visible on a phone. A pre-filled WhatsApp message per page tells your team which ad worked. See should my dental clinic show prices in ads.

6. Check you are actually showing

Add the columns Search impr. share and Search lost IS (rank). If most loss is rank, your ads or pages are weak. Then change one thing at a time, so you know what worked.

UAE and DHA specifics

  • Insurance shapes the search. Dubai's basic Essential Benefits Plan covers dental only up to AED 500 a year with 30% co-insurance, and excludes implants, orthodontics and cosmetic work, according to DHA circular GC 03/2024. So general dentistry ads should name insurers, and implant or aligner ads should talk price and payment plans. Details in our dental insurance guide.
  • DHA wording rules apply to your ads. No "best", "100%", "guaranteed" or "painless", and titles exactly as licensed. Khaleej Times listed the banned words in September 2026. See how to advertise a clinic in Dubai.

Fix it yourself, or have it fixed

Doing this right takes working tracking for calls, WhatsApp and forms, a weekly search terms review, campaigns split by treatment, and a landing page per treatment that follows DHA rules. Plan on a few hours a week, plus developer time for the pages and tags.

Fix it yourself

  • Rebuild and test tracking for calls, WhatsApp and forms
  • Review search terms weekly and keep negative lists current
  • Split campaigns by treatment and match them to reception hours
  • Build a DHA-compliant page per treatment

Frequently asked questions

How long before a new dental campaign should get leads?

You should see enquiries within the first couple of weeks if tracking works. LocaliQ's 2026 benchmark for dentists is a 10.67% conversion rate (mostly US accounts). If you have 100 or more clicks and zero leads, it is a leak, not a learning period. Start with clicks but no leads.

Is my dental budget too small?

Possibly. At LocaliQ's 2026 dental benchmark of $8.00 per click, AED 3,000 buys roughly 100 clicks a month. Split across five treatments, that is about 20 clicks each, which is too thin to learn from. Fund one or two treatments properly first.

Why do my dental ads get enquiries from other emirates?

Usually the location option is set to Presence or interest, or the radius is too wide. Switch to Presence and tighten the radius, unless you want those patients.
